So if you see any rust formation on any metal-based furniture, be sure to address it as soon as possible.
Uses of Liquid Metal Coat
A liquid metal coat can be applied on any surface for both indoor and outdoor use. These include:

Note that outdoor surfaces need a polyurethane coating. Polyurethane is a polymer-coated over liquid metal coats for added protection against water, heat and abrasion.

Each single spray application is around 0.8mm to 1.0mm thick. A 1mm thick metal sheet weighs around 7.8kg; using a theoretical steel weight chart and mild steel as a material. 3. Flawless Finish Fusing together metal sheets will always result in noticeable welding or soldering segments. Using LIQMET spray viscosity, you'll achieve a seamless and flawless finish no matter how extensive the wall maybe without any hassle. 4. Flexibility variety of end finish A liquid metal coat gives you the freedom to apply to almost every surface. It will provide an excellent finish even on uneven surfaces like the trellis patterns on cupboards or the nooks and crannies of a sculpture. Freedom from sheet metal limitations Working with metals as decorative arts is challenging, as these are hard to manipulate. The only way to transform metals into detailed artworks with curves is by melting the metal and casting it into a mould. You can just imagine the cost that comes with the artwork. The practical solution to this challenge is using liquid metal coats on easy to manoeuvre substrates like polystyrene. Carve your chosen 3D sculpture design using polystyrene and layer it with a liquid metal coat to replicate a solid metal appearance. 6. Cold process A liquid metal coat is much more convenient and user friendly compared to its counterpart, powder coating. Powder metal coating involves a tedious process of first applying power to the substrate using electrostatic spray on an electrically grounded material. Curing comes next, where the substrate is placed in an oven melting the metal powder. Lastly, it is allowed to dry and harden. As you can see, powder coating is limited to small objects, requiring heat and machines. Heat is known to damage some base materials. On top of that, the metal substrate must be electrically grounded. Using non-metals needs a fluidized bed powder, which is another costly equipment to use.

    Fiberglass and Liquid Metal Coatings

    During the last few years, we were involved in some projects which required manufacturing fiberglass moulds and products. The biggest one was Palazzo Versace hotel in Gold Coast, which is still the luxurious hotel in Australia. “Versace Palazzo – the definition of luxury, glamour and sophistication and is the home of Versace, one of the most legendary fashion brands in the world.” Our job was manufacturing 400 columns and column’s capitals from foam or timber models. During this project we had some problems and one of them was very complicated 3D shapes of columns and capitals which did not allow to use simple fiberglass moulds. So we had to use rubber moulds together with fiberglass to support rubber. It took us a time but anyway we produced 400 copies of marbleize columns with bronze and gold capitals with Liqmet metal coatings on it. The last problem suddenly appeared on our horizon. All installed columns had an empty sound. To solve it we had to fill up all of them with a plaster. Finally, everything looked awesome and never ever can say that there were artificial marble and not solid metal.

    Another big project using fiberglass moulds was done for distributors of Toyota in Australia. They presented to their top clients a corporate gift which was a copy of 18th-century bronze medallion manufactured by traditional casting in Japan. The price per each was $350.

    We made a fiberglass mould from the original copy and coated with a thin layer of Liqmet bronze coating. The rest was filled up with a piece of MDF. As an outcome, we had a copy of 18th-century medallion for $110 each. Our medallions looked better, was touch cold as well but was much lighter than original. During the last few years, we manufactured thousands of copies and happy to continue!

    Liquid Metal Colour Range

    LIQMET liquid metal colour range is practically limitless.

    The LIQMET liquid metal colour range is huge.  We say it’s practically limitless because during 17 years of creating new and exciting finishes we haven’t got to the end of the possibilities yet. At the moment we have 17 metals and alloys and one non-metal - graphite.

     

    The liquid metal colour range is made up of standard and custom-made colours

    The standard LIQMET colour range includes the following colours:  zinc, Tahiti, Aqualloy, rose alloy, aluminium, iron, gold, brass, bronze, antique bronze, pewter, smoked chrome, antique brass, antique copper, platinum, copper and graphite.  Some of our metal colours are natural like a copper. Some colours are alloys. We call these colours our standard range.  All the applicator has to do is mix the Part A – metal with Par B – a catalyst and get spraying or brushing.

     

    Custom-made metals are individually created

    In our factory, we have created a number of custom-mixed colours.  Most of them are made to match colours for some projects.

    One of our major advantages is 2 different viscosities. If spray or brush viscosity alone does not meet your requirement you can mix viscosities together to achieve a suitable viscosity.

    A huge number of options for metal applications using different colours and viscosities gives many possibilities to create unique beautiful metal finishes.
